The Yonders Farm eco-village community lives on a 100 acre Land Trust. Beautiful rolling hills of woods and fields... Where people can learn how to approach life in a green sustainable way -- and become part of our compassionate, creative community... our family in central Georgia, South East U.S.A. See: 'Map to Us' ~bottom left column. How to visit or stay a while...  To Contact Us Use This Form

Our official non-profit mission is dedicated to charitable outreach, working on providing unique solutions for our world's pressing social and ecological needs, including the growing crisis of poverty and homelessness -- and catastrophic climate change. Our low impact community 'soft steps' our carbon footprint, and is headed towards 100% carbon neutrality... and beyond. (explained below) We promote carbon awareness through our eco-village's learning farm and globally through our web site. We are Peak Oil aware -- and preparing. We are sorrowfully aware of the 6th Great Extinction -- and working to stop it. We are aware of Global Warming -- and helping to reverse it.

We invite you to join our site. You will have access to our private internal networking system, members only chats, and other special features. Our 'off-campus' extended community is an important part of YondersFarm. Members support our green educational efforts and help for the 'broken'... some of whom are stressed veterans with families and young children, and others who are just stressed out from the rat race -- fearing unemployment and homelessness. Our 'off-campus' community also functions as a learning pool for our future organic homesteaders and energized volunteers. Join our site.Contact Us for guidance and technical support. The edge of our land isn't a boundary -- we all live on the same planet.

There are free methods you can use to sponsor our green, sustainable, eco-village community... to reduce global warming... and help the poor.

  • GoodSearch recognizes our status as a legitimate non-profit charity. It's a Yahoo! based search that donates to our peaceful green humanitarian efforts every time you use it, even more if you shop through it. You click & WE work. Five, just average 5 easyGoodSearch'sa day, and it will go a long way... about $18.25/year. The work we're doing costs money. Please help.

  • You have to pay 'them' anyway, so... why not help the needy and the environment instead of underwriting war? You can put 'government' money into blessed healing instead of unspeakable harm. It's easy to do. Redirect your income taxes to our Non Profit 501 (C3)(d)... (yes, it is legal) This is an empowerment opportunity -- you can control where your taxes go! Donations are 100% tax deductible. Details at the end of this article. Contact Us if you need help.

For the past 30 years our close-to-the-Earth lifestyle combined with an open arms philosophy has led to providing society with a unique approach to life support skills for desperate human beings and renewal of their 'broken' spirit... and priceless experiences for those who can volunteer and share their healing energy, their love and compassion, their skills with gardens, hammers, and homes... and people. Heartbreaking as it is, we can't accept any additional dependent people as residents until the supporting donation base increases significantly. Everyone drowns in an overloaded lifeboat. We are still recruiting for competent teachers and volunteers with their own source of income who can help others. We are also planning various educational seminars -- with the proceeds dedicated to conservation and helping the needy. jump to the rest...

Local Energy

In several discussions residents have been hitting the energy issues again. Solar electric, solar hot water, and wood gas and co-production of hot water is getting a lot of attention. With nearly 100 acres of varied forest here there's certainly no shortage of wood. Our forest management plan provides plenty of fuel from prescribed thinnings.

Surviving the Drought

After many inquires on how we're handling the drought...

Well, it's true, there is a deep drought in the South East U.S.A. -- Atlanta's 5 million may experience unprecedented extreme water shortages soon.

We're only 100 miles as the crow flies from Atlanta. Drought is an increasing problem in many places around the globe.

We are fortunate to be in a lightly populated, heavily wooded area. The forest improves deep percolation and helps retain moisture. Even with the forest, all of our surface springs have dried up. Our marshes and ponds are drying to critical levels for wildlife. We are pulling survival water from a well that is over 300 feet deep, savoring every drop, limiting use to essential purposes. For the moment, we still have enough water to drink.

Our only hope for a well watered future is reversal of Global Warming. We're worried about the health of the forest if we don't get enough rain soon.
